Traditional cuisine, which encompasses multiple layers, equally attracts the interest of anthropologists, psychologists, sociologists, and medical researchers, and numerous studies have been dedicated to it. The present paper attempts to analyze the results of long-term fieldwork conducted among ethnic Georgians living in Turkey and is based on the meanings provided by respondents and the context they themselves have presented. The article analyzes discourses related to cuisine based on these inputs and highlights its role as an ethnomarker in the preservation of Georgian identity.
